Ulysses S. Grant High School (GHS), originally built in 1924, underwent a substantial modernization project with COLAS partnered as the CM/GC for upgrades to 300,000 SF of the campus for the classrooms, library, and common areas to be state-of-the-art, sustainable, and able to serve well beyond today’s generation. The renovation featured several key parts from major seismic and facade renovations to a ground-up gymnasium addition. The original gymnasium was restored to serve as the center for art and a centralized resource center for PPS students. With a new solar array, roofing, turf, and natural fields, nearly 1,500 GHS Generals reclaimed their newly finished school in August before the school year.
