Affordable Housing Multifamily

King + Parks is a four-story and 83,000 SF apartment building with 70 multifamily homes, including 12 two-story townhomes, located in the historic Piedmont neighborhood. Led by PCRI and the community-centered vision of the North/Northeast Neighborhood Housing Strategy, King + Parks provides affordable housing with preference to North and Northeast Portland residents, many of whom were negatively impacted or displaced by inattentive efforts to revitalize the area over several decades. The courtyard is the central focus of this U-shaped structure with rows of townhome-style units complementing the community spaces with gardens, sitting areas, bike storage and repair stations, energy-efficient features, and sustainable design; bioswale drainage systems, Low E for solar heat transfer, and energy-efficient design.

King + Parks is named after beloved activists, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968), and Rosa Parks (1913-2005) for their contributions to the Civil Rights Movement in addition to the location between NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Rosa Parks Way, another meaningful nod to their work for racial equity.
