Earth Advantage Certified. Advanced framing systems were used to allow for increased insulation. 43% M/W/ESB participation was utilized. On demand hot water heaters were used to decrease wasted energy. Central air ventilators with programmable timers were used to cycle air through the building because of the extremely insulated manner of the building

COLAS added several new value engineering (VE) items to the design of this project after becoming a member of the project team, including ways to VE (windows, door packages, lighting packages and siding material). COLAS added value and cost savings to the project when the head of the predevelopment team suggested using the Delta Dry rain screens system rather than using the standard wood rain screen that was initially called out in the design. While the material costs initially appeared to be more expensive, the reduced labor costs made the superior product cheaper. When our team is given the challenge of value engineering, we always look at ways to add value while reducing costs. It's the COLAS' way!
