During the development of these blocks, COLAS worked with three different developers using three types of delivery systems. COLAS helped the architect select the acoustic floor system that was used in the project to achieve an STC rating that was above 60. Provided valuable insight during construction which helped the team select a window system that limited sound transfer from the I-5 Freeway located near the project.
This condominium project consisted of 24,000 square feet of new construction, which included 24 new units in 4 separate buildings.
During this project, we added insight on the addition of several green features. The owner of the project originally believed that adding green features would be too costly for the project budget. COLAS' team introduced several features to the owner including: on demand hot water heaters, 95% efficient HVAC systems with energy efficient ducting, advanced insulation techniques, energy efficient lights, low VOC paints, energy efficient appliances and several additional features. The team showed the owner the long term green and life-cycle benefits of the various products and worked with the owner in the short term to secure nearly $15K in rebates via the Energy Trust of Oregon.
