Sustainability is a guiding principle for COLAS

As a part of the Portland, Oregon community, COLAS identifies with our city’s goal of being one of the most sustainable cities in the world.

Our goals are not limited to construction. COLAS’ work hinges on three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic.

COLAS is committed to being a transformative agent in the community by minimizing our carbon footprint through sustainable building practices while cultivating a vibrant, inclusive and diverse workforce.
We have a strong commitment to sustainability and encourage employees to be well versed in the general and specific requirements of green construction and the various rating systems.  Protecting the environment is a responsibility that we all share, and it is a fundamental consideration in developing our sustainable building programs. We encourage our employees to live, think and work in sustainable ways whenever possible by examining alternatives such as: recycling and reusing materials, promoting diversity and minimizing our environmental impact.
